

Microsoft is delivering a PC Health Check Application to Windows 10 users via Windows Update. Windows Update installs PC Health Check on Windor later versions It’s worth noting that the PC Health Check app is available as a separate download for Insiders and the public. The company released an updated version recently and made it available for manual download here. Microsoft initially launched PC Health Check App for insiders to check if their system configuration meets with Windows 11 requirements. If automatic updates are enabled, you may have the app installed already. While most of the devices older than 3 years may not be eligible, Redmond giant is sending a PC Health Check app to all Windows 10 PCs through Windows Update with KB5005463. That is a big issue considering security updates are essential for a Windows machine to run.Windows 11 is available for three weeks, Microsoft wants most users running Windows 10 to check if their PC is compatible to upgrade. This includes security updates, as well, which means Microsoft will not be liable if your PC catches a security threat. However, it will not roll out Windows Updates to these machines. Microsoft did say previously that it will not stop users from installing Windows 11 on older CPUs.

This is contradictory because Windows 11 was running just fine on the PC. However, at the same time, folks at The Verge claimed the PC Health Check app suggested one of the gaming PCs with a 7th Gen Intel Core i7 processor is not compatible with Windows 11. A lot of processors from Intel and AMD are not supported, so it is understandable if the PC Health Check app calls your PC incompatible. The most important thing here is the processor, which strictly needs to be in Microsoft’s list of compatible processors. This includes checking various aspects of the computer, such as the processor type, TDM security standard, minimum RAM and storage requirement, among others. The purpose of the PC Health Check app is to let users know if their PC will support Windows 11 or not.
